ionysis is looking for a HiWi / Master Student
As a recently founded and well-funded start-up based in beautiful Freiburg, ionysis develops next-generation membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for electrochemical converters. We develop and manufacture MEAs based on the most performant fluorine-free materials. As a spin-off of Hahn-Schickard and the University of Freiburg, we combine scientific excellence with entrepreneurial spirit to bring our innovations to market and scale.
We are looking for a student assistant (f/m/d) with the opportunity to work on a master’s thesis. In this role, you will be an integral part of our tech team, working on the development of an innovative experimental setup aimed at advancing our comprehension of water transport within catalyst-coated membranes in fuel cells. Your friends would describe you as a great engineer, who enjoys developing new test setups from the ground up, analyzing data, displaying empathy, and always coming up with a solution to problems.
Your Responsibilities
Fabrication of catalyst-coated membranes (CCMs)
Build a functional experimental setup to investigate water transport through CCMs
Design and conduct experiments
Evaluate and present data
Your qualifications
Enthusiasm in designing and constructing setups for new measurement methods
Proficiency in microcontroller operation and programming (e.g. LabView, Python…)
Strong team player and getting-things-done mentality
Ability to show initiative with a willingness to proactively take on new tasks
Fluency in German and English
Experience in laboratory work
