ionysis is looking for a Lab assistant (f/m/d)

ionysis develops next-generation membrane electrode assemblies for electrochemical converters. As a young and innovative company based in beautiful and vibrant Freiburg, we are looking for a technical lab assistant (f/m/d).

 

You work within the tech team hands-on in the lab and fabricate lab- and pilot-scale fuel cell and electrolyzer prototypes. Your friends would describe you as a well-organized, focused, and thorough team-player.

 

What we do

 To stop climate change and reach Net Zero, ionysis seeks to decarbonize mobility and industry with innovative electrochemical devices. We focus on the core of any electrochemical converter: The membrane electrode assembly (MEA). We develop and manufacture MEAs based on novel materials for hydrogen technologies, including fuel cells and electrolyzers. As a spin-off from Hahn-Schickard and the University of Freiburg, we combine scientific excellence with entrepreneurial spirit to bring our innovations to market and scale.

Your responsibilities

  • Development and application of electrode dispersion formulations

  • Fabrication of lab- and pilot-scale MEAs precisely according to standard procedures

  • Characterization of the  electrode layers by e.g. microscopic analysis

  • Reporting and presentation of your results in regular technical meetings

  • Reproduction of experiments

 

Your qualifications

  • A technical education with profound lab experience: chemical technical assistants (CTA), chemical laboratory technician, pharmaceutical laboratory assistant or similar)

  • Ability, patience and endurance to perform similar experiments repetitively with the same high quality

  • Professional experience in a related field is a plus

  • Ability to show initiative and think ahead, with a willingness to proactively take on new tasks

  • Strong team player and getting-things-done mentality

  • Proficiency with common office software

  • Fluency in German or English
