ionysis is looking for a Junior MEA Development Technician (f/m/d)
ionysis develops next-generation membrane electrode assemblies for electrochemical converters. As a recently founded and well-funded start-up based in beautiful and vibrant Freiburg, we are looking for a junior MEA development technician (f/m/d).
You work within the tech team hands-on in the lab and fabricate lab- and pilot-scale fuel cell and electrolyzer prototypes consisting of novel fluorine-free materials. In addition, you test these devices in respect to performance and stability. Your friends would describe you as a curious, well-organized, focused, and great team-player.
What we do
To stop climate change and reach Net Zero, ionysis seeks to decarbonize mobility and industry with innovative electrochemical devices. We focus on the core of any electrochemical converter: The membrane electrode assembly (MEA). We develop and manufacture MEAs based on most performant fluorine-free materials for hydrogen technology, including fuel cells and electrolysers. As a spin-off from Hahn-Schickard and the University of Freiburg, we combine scientific excellence with entrepreneurial spirit to bring our innovations to market and scale.
Your responsibilities
Fabrication and characterization of lab- and pilot-scale MEAs precisely according to standard procedures
Development and application of electrode dispersion formulations according to standard procedures
Microscopic analysis of electrode layers
Reporting and presentation of your results in regular technical meetings
Reproduction of experiments
Your qualifications
Enthusiasm for fighting climate change and contributing to Net Zero
Strong team player and getting-things-done mentality
Professional experience in a related field is a plus
Ability, patience and endurance to perform similar experiments repetitively with the same high quality
Ability to show initiative and think ahead, with a willingness to proactively take on new tasks
Proficiency with common office software
Fluency in German and English
