ionysis is looking for an Inline Characterization Engineer (f/m/d)

Our excellent tech team takes care of that, while you might be the perfect fit to complement the team with your focus on quality in the production process.
As a recently founded and well-funded start-up based in beautiful Freiburg, we are looking for an engineer for inline inspection (f/m/d). You work at the intersect of tech team, production, and quality. We are currently planning a pilot coating line. Your task is to set-up and maintain the inline inspection tools along our pilot production line. Your friends appreciate that you are not only nerdy but also stand out through your great hands-on mentality.
What we do
To stop climate change and reach Net Zero, ionysis seeks to decarbonize mobility and industry with innovative electrochemical devices. We focus on the core of any electrochemical converter: The membrane electrode assembly (MEA). We develop and manufacture MEAs based on most performant fluorine-free materials for hydrogen technology, including fuel cells and electrolysers. As a spin-off from Hahn-Schickard and the University of Freiburg, we combine scientific excellence with entrepreneurial spirit to bring our innovations to market and scale.
Your responsibilities
Build-up and integration of high-resolution camera systems, XRF and other advanced optical characterization tools into our pilot production line in a clean room
Qualification (EQ), calibration and maintenance of all related inspection devices
Bring innovation and continuous improvement into our characterization techniques
Support in set-up of activation, read-out, and data management
Managing the interface to the AI data evaluation

Your qualifications
Enthusiasm for fighting climate change and contributing to Net Zero
Strong team player and getting-things-done mentality
Experience in software integration of measurement tools, including data management & analysis
Basic skills in MatLab, LabView or Python and openness to dive more into Python
Experience with common quality standards and related methods is a plus (MSA, FMEA, PCP)
Out of the box thinking with a willingness to proactively take on new tasks
Proficiency with common office software
Fluency in German and English
