ionysis is looking for an Electrician / Technician (f/m/d)
ionysis develops next-generation membrane electrode assemblies for electrochemical converters. Even if this sounds like a foreign language to you, don’t stop reading just yet. Our excellent tech team takes care of that, while you might be the perfect fit to complement the team with your hands-on electrician skills.
As a recently founded and well-funded start-up based in beautiful Freiburg, we are looking for an electrician / technician (f/m/d). You work within the tech team hand-on in the lab and produce lab-scale fuel cell prototypes comprising of novel fluorine-free materials. In addition, you characterize your devices.
What we do
To stop climate change and reach Net Zero, ionysis seeks to decarbonize mobility and industry with innovative electrochemical devices. We focus on the core of any electrochemical converter: The membrane electrode assembly (MEA). We develop and manufacture MEAs based on most performant fluorine-free materials for hydrogen technology, including fuel cells and electrolysers. As a spin-off from Hahn-Schickard and the University of Freiburg, we combine scientific excellence with entrepreneurial spirit to bring our innovations to market and scale.
Your responsibilities
Purchase of components for the build-up of characterization equipment
Build-up of advanced characterization equipment for fuel cell and electrolysis testing
Calibration and maintenance of characterization equipment
Hands-on team support with your technical skills
Conducting and reproduction of experiments
Report and present your results in regular technical meetings
Your qualifications
Enthusiasm for fighting climate change and contributing to Net Zero
Strong team player and getting-things-done mentality
A technical education with profound lab experience (Apprenticeship as a technician/electrician/mechatronic or comparable)
Diligent, clean and safety-oriented work attitude
Professional experience in the energy technology sector and/or the area of device engineering is a plus
Basic experience with typical coding software (Python, LabVIEW)
Ability, patience and endurance to perform similar experiments repetitively with the same high quality
Ability to show initiative and think ahead, with a willingness to proactively take on new tasks
Proficiency with common office software
Fluency in German and English
